Childrens Program:

Our Philosophy:

Dancemakers takes immense pride and joy in its Children’s Dance Program. For our youngest dancers beginning at ages 3 through 12 years, a primary focus is placed on traditional core values. Children are introduced to conventional dance education in a fun and positive setting. While promoting individual creativity and enjoyment, the schools smallest dancers experience is one best described as energetic, caring, educational, and exciting.

Our philosophy is to instill a real understanding of dance and movement through mediums in which a child can relate to and enjoy, such as learning games and fun music.

Our approach to children’s dance education develops attributes that can serve the child well throughout a lifetime. These include discipline, self-respect and self-confidence; improved learning skills; creativity, self-expression, imagination; and an instilled appreciation for music, dance and other art forms.

By emphasizing strong dance technique, the Dancemakers Children’s Dance Program is designed to take a child from the earliest years of dance training through the pre-teen years. At this point, the confident young dancer will be prepared to segue into the Teen Dance Program, where the student can study more recreationally to supplement a sport or other extracurricular activity, or our Adrenaline Dance Company, our pre-professional teen dance program where students make dance their primary extracurricular activity and enjoy extended performance and training opportunities through competitions, conventions, and community outreach concerts.

Why choose Dancemakers Children's Dance Program?

• Because our faculty is carefully selected to exemplify our philosophy. Our teachers are dance professionals chosen for their knowledge and expertise. Our instructors are top notch, with unsurpassed experience. We pride ourselves on our dance faculty, all of which have professional experience or higher education. That means working as a real professional dancer, choreographer, or obtaining a college degree in dance education. Classes are NEVER taught by young teenagers or students.

• Because we regard dance as an art form and an ever-changing and evolving education, we do not concentrate solely on recital routines. Though recital is important, our students never enter a classroom solely to work on choreography. We split our time and place just as much emphasis on class work and student progression as we do with our year end recital presentation.

• Because we limit class size so that we can provide a low teacher to student ratio. This guarantees an environment where the instructor always remains in control of their classroom, can afford to give one on one attention, and students are not subjected to over crowding.

It’s easy to see why Dancemakers is clearly the smart choice.
