Teen Program:

Our Philosophy:

The Teen Dance Program at Dancemakers is without a doubt one of the leading dance training programs for young adults available in Maine. Students receive unsurpassed instruction in both the recreational, and competitive programs. We provide a fun, high energy and positive environment for all of our dancers.

No distinction is made between student types, as “recreational” students, who choose to dance for pure enjoyment or physical activity, are given no less consideration then their competitive counterparts who have chosen to make dance their primary extracurricular pursuit. Regardless of program concentration, all students are given the tools needed to exceed expectations and excel to their individual fullest potential.

These hallmarks are made possible only by hosting one of the greatest faculty teams in the region. Students are afforded the distinct privilege of training with only the most skilled and experienced dance educators in the area.

Why choose Dancemakers Teen Dance Program?

What separates Dancemakers and our Teen Dance Program from other local studios and recreational centers?

• Because our faculty is carefully selected to exemplify our philosophy. Our teachers are dance professionals chosen for their knowledge and expertise. Our instructors are top notch, with unsurpassed experience. We pride ourselves on our dance faculty, all of which have professional experience or higher education. That means working as a real professional dancer, choreographer, or obtaining a college degree in dance education. Classes are NEVER taught by young teenagers or students.

• Because our dancers are the very definition of the term “well rounded.” Our program offers a perfect fusion of traditional technical training and cutting edge styles and choreography.

• Because we are the only dance studio in Maine that offers classes in contemporary and video dance forms. These new forms of dance have been featured and made famous by popular television shows like “So You Think You Can Dance,” “MTV,” and “Step it Up and Dance,” just to name a few!

• Because much like our Children’s Dance Program, our classes are not solely focused on routines. Class work is paramount in our program to properly train students. Our class sizes are limited to afford students plenty of space to move freely and without inhibition, as well as to provide instructors the opportunity to grant students ample one on one attention.
